Our work, in public

The work, shown as it stands.

Work for businesses comes first, then our own pieces. Each card shows the work itself, what is done, what is not, and a number once we have checked one.

What this page isThe work Caldera has made: so far, two sample sites for fictional businesses and our own pieces. A number appears here only after we have read it on the live source or counted it on disk, and it carries that source and the date.

Work for businesses

Two sample sites.

Each card says what it is: a sample made for a business that does not exist. No paying client’s live site is shown here yet; one goes up only with that client’s written OK.

Sample site · fictional business · AI-generated photos

Kalo & Ahi: a sample restaurant site

A one-page website for a fictional poke and plate-lunch counter in Kapahulu: the case with prices, hours that say whether it is open right now, directions, and a call button that stays on the phone screen.

It shows our craft, not the $500 package: the leaf mark, the badge and the drawn map go beyond the $500 first website, which has six photo slots and a set layout.

  • DoneThe whole page, live as a preview.
  • Not donePhotos are AI-generated, not shot.
Details
  • DoneThe whole page is built: the first screen, the case with prices, plate lunches, the counter, hours that show open or closed in Honolulu time, a drawn map, and a call bar fixed to the bottom of the phone screen. It was checked at phone and desktop widths.
  • Not doneKalo & Ahi is not a real shop: no business by that name came up on google.com on October 25. The photos are AI-generated. The phone number is a reserved fictional one, so here the call button shows a note instead of dialling. Not yet tested on a physical iPhone.

Lehua & Lacquer: a sample salon site

A one-page website for a fictional nail and lash studio in Kaimukī: services with starting prices, hours that say whether it is open right now, where to find it, and a booking button that stays on the phone screen.

Close to the $500 package: one page, a set layout, two photos. The illustrated map is the one extra.

  • DoneThe whole page, live as a preview.
  • Not donePhotos are AI-generated, not shot.
Details
  • DoneThe whole page is built: the first screen, the service sheet with starting prices, hours in Honolulu time with an open-now line, an illustrated map of the block, and a booking bar fixed to the bottom of the phone screen. It was checked at phone and desktop widths.
  • Not doneLehua & Lacquer is not a real studio: no business by that name came up on google.com on October 25. The photos are AI-generated. The phone number is a reserved fictional one and the booking button is a placeholder, so both show a note instead. Not yet tested on a physical iPhone.

Oʻahu, measured

What Oʻahu's business websites look like, counted from our own audit: the addresses we loaded, the ones that failed, and how many are a local business's own site.

21,000website addresses listed for Oʻahu businesses, audited (rounded)
4,100of them dead or broken; 98 of a random 100 were, in a desktop browser
9,600of them a local business's own site, estimated from a random 100
From our Oʻahu website audit, October 19–22, 2026. Counts rounded.
  • DoneThree rounded counts from our audit, and the map they come from.
  • Not doneCounts, not verdicts on any one business.
Details
  • DoneOur audit loaded each website address listed for an Oʻahu business and read the page as it rendered. Counts are rounded. Two are checked by sampling: of a random 100 dead or broken addresses, 98 were dead or broken when opened in a desktop browser; of a random 100 sites the audit classed as business sites, about 84 were a local business's own site.
  • Not doneA count of addresses is not a count of businesses: a business can list a dead address and still have a working site somewhere else. No business is named here.

An animated logo reveal as a product

A 10-second reveal built from a client's outlined vector logo: shown here on our wordmark, and tested on a second, made-up mark.

10seconds, from the vector to the master logoChecked October 22, 2026 · ffprobe on the final 16:9 film (10.000 s), checked on disk
  • DoneFinished 10-second film, passed Oct 22.
  • Not doneNot for sale yet: no price set.
  • NextFive fixes, then a price.
Details
  • DoneThe film is finished: 10 seconds from the Caldera wordmark, score written first, at 16:9 and 9:16 with sound, and the same composition rendered from a second, made-up logo with no code changes. Our founder passed it on October 22, 2026, after watching it at full speed with sound. The plate plays it muted; the linked film has the sound. Piano: Salamander Grand Piano V3 by Alexander Holm, CC BY 3.0; strings, horn and bass from VSCO 2 CE (CC0); drums synthesised.
  • Not doneIt is not offered for sale yet: five fixes come first, among them logos on a light background and single-shape marks, which it does not yet handle well. No price is set.
  • NextThe five fixes, then a price.

Live pieces come first; the numbers are the build order. A piece moves to Live only when it exists at full quality and has been approved at playback speed, with sound where it has sound. Every image on this page is the work itself or the data it is made from, and none is stock. Generated images appear only inside work labelled concept imagery.

Piece 3 · the month

Four weeks of posts, October 22 to November 20, 2026.

A post most days at noon Hawaiʻi time; Mondays are for the review. Six formats are tried against each other, so the numbers can say which ones work for a studio like ours. Thumbnails are the finished pieces; the rest is the plan, and it can change at a weekly review.

How a number gets on this page

Seen, written down, then published.

1

Seen

A number is read on the live source: the app, the console, the file on disk. A tool's summary is not a source.

2

Written down

With the date, the method and what was seen. Every number on this page names its source next to it.

3

Published as it is

If it did not move, it says so. A card with no checked number says that too.
